Winter Menu Week 4

Our winter menus are designed especially for children of all preschool ages and include all food nutrients necessary for a balanced development of their bodies during the colder time of the year. Also, the menu is optimized to the weather changes and combines many fruits and veggies.

 

Monday:

Morning Snack: Whole grain toast with yogurt
Lunch (catered by Food for Tots): Beef and Pepperoni Pizza Casserole – Pizza Casserole made with WG Penne noodles, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and lean ground beef, served with Winter Greens. Fresh Seasonal Fruit.
Dinner: Oatmeal porridge with raisins

Tuesday:

Morning Snack: Cheerios with raisins & milk
Lunch (catered by Food for Tots): Balsamic Chicken Breast – Chicken Breast baked in a Balsamic Dressing served with a Hot Mixed Vegetables WG Rotini Pasta Salad. Fresh Seasonal Fruit.
Dinner: Pasta with cheese

Wednesday:

Morning Snack: Organic cookies with milk and bananas
Lunch (catered by Food for Tots): Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff – Shaved Beef Steak and Mushroom casserole served with WG Fusilli Pasta and Turnips. Fresh Seasonal Fruit.
Dinner: Porridge with wild berries

Thursday:

Morning Snack: Croissants with cream cheese and milk
Lunch (catered by Food for Tots): Egg Salad Sandwich and Turkey Wild Rice Soup – WG Egg Salad Sandwich served with a Bowl of Homemade Turkey Wild Rice Soup and Sliced Pepper Sticks. Fresh Seasonal Fruit.
Dinner: Pasta and sausages

Friday:

Morning Snack: Cereal with milk and fresh fruits
Lunch (catered by Food for Tots): WG Spaghetti and Meatballs – WG Spaghetti Topped with Homemade Beef Meatball Tomato Sauce and served with a side of Mixed Vegetables. Fresh Seasonal Fruit.
Dinner: Fish sticks and rice
 
Menu approved by a Registered Dietitian.

Fresh Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables may vary and include: apple, banana, grapes, pears, strawberries, melons (water, cantaloupe, & musk), plums, nectarines, mango and vegetables may vary due to seasonal availability.

Beverages: We serve homo 3.25% milk, selection of juices, and spring water.

All Lunches are Trans fat-free (except for naturally occurring Trans fats).
